Fake Coach Bag

One of the popular handbags is those created by Coach. The history of coach is an interesting one. Coach, is often thought of as a new company that sells high-end, high-quality leather handbags for women. Actually, Coach has been around for over 50 years, with its beginnings in 1941.

Many of us wonder how these companies who may have others rich, got their start. Coach did not begin in a large factory overnight. In fact, Coach was born in a loft, located in New Jersey. The small staff of six leather workers handcrafted leather goods from wallets to handbags under the company name of, not Coach, but that of the Gail Manufacturing Company. Not until 1970, did the name of the company change to that of Coach Products, Inc, and later, in the year 1980 to Coach Leatherware Company, Inc.

If any of us remember the days leather handbags and products were that even though affordable, they were not much more than a piece of dyed leather that was glued over a piece of cardboard or cardboard like products. However, Miles Cahn, who had taken over this new company in the 1950's, decided that there should be a better way to create affordable, yet high quality leather products. With much research, Miles Cahn found a process which would make the leather soft, yet strong and durable. Thus, Coach became the leader in quality handbags and other leather products.

Throughout the years, Coach sales have been obtained by selected vendors, mail-order, specialty leather stores, and today, you will find over 730 locations for Coach. In the year 2011, Coach had over 12,000 employees. Today, based in New York, Coach is a household name, regardless of economic status.

Coach bags are not only popular, but they are also fashionable and trendy to fit the tastes of anyone. They also make a perfect gift. However, there are what consumers know as “knockoffs” which are replications of designer, name brand goods. There are replicas of Coach bags. So, how do you decipher between the real thing and a knock-off?

Double C's that face each other, side by side. There should not be any cut off, except possibly on the side of the handbag.

Genuine Coach Dust Bag

Another tell tale sign of a knock off is that every coach bag comes with a dust bag. There are those who sell replica Coach bags with dust bags as well. However, the genuine dust bag for a Coach bag is tan or brown with red stitching and the Coach logo that is stamped on it.

Coach hardware is heavy, unbending to human strength. Knock-offs have gold plated hardware, which Coach does not.

Coach does not use glue or any other method with their creations except for stitching. Coach creates their bags, and products differently than other handbag manufacturers which make them unique. Unless you are purchasing for an actual Coach store, you, as a consumer, should be aware of  how to spot a fake from the genuine Coach products.

When purchasing a Coach bag, or other leather products, although they can be a bit pricey, you are not paying for the name, but you are paying for a high-quality, the best in leather goods on the market. Your Coach bag, or other leather goods will last for many, many years.
