Some of the strangest, bizarre and most unusual tattoos often don't receive the attention they deserve. After all, they are a permanant peice of art on someone's body and like all tattoos, even the most unusual ones make quite a statement.

He's Still Alive?

This tattoo is surely one that could raise a few eyebrows. The detail used in the color blending and shading with the blood and illusion of bullet wounds speaks volumes against a backdrop of more traditional black tribal designs and a couple of faded animal tattoos. I would have to give this a shock factor of 8 out of 10.

A Superhero is Born

The amount of care and detail that went into this design is nothing less than skillful. Using the contrast of multiple shades of pink, soft grays and strong outlines without over using deep lines of black for emphasis reveal that the tattoo artist had a clear vision of how to keep a balance between light, shadow and color. Definitely a new way to promote the Spider-man theme.

Are You Looking at Me?

A little more detail is left to be desired from this unusual tattoo. However, she surely is still able to create that shock factor with an optical illusion that she was looking for by tattooing a set of eyes on her eyelids.

Wind Me Up

This bold and simple tattoo is a bit of a puzzle. Featured in clock-like gears with a numerical theme leaves the viewer with more questions that answers as to what type of hidden message or symbolism lies within the idea behind the design.

Birth of an Alien

A bit gross but wow does this tattoo have the most incredible detail that features the baby alien that was popularized from the hit Alien move series. This tattoo recaptures a shocking scene in which a baby alien burst through the stomach of an astronaut after he had woken from a coma after being attacked by a large female alien that impregnated him with an alien embryo.

Jungle Punk

Many people get tattoos on their head but not many women do this on this much of their head so I thought it was worthy of including it in this article. We see a Leopard or Cheetah like theme although it has a different color palette than the traditional gold, orange, brown, yellow and black theme. Instead, she chose a little more of a punkish style by using lime green and purple as a contrast.

Are You Looking at Me?

This tattoo brings us back to the old fables in which Cyclops roamed the magical mountains. This tattoo is definitely one that makes a statement.

Are You Looking at Me Too?

Speaking of eye tattoos, this one surely makes even more of an impression than the one above. The sheer size of this tattoo is a statement all of its own and definitely catches the attention of the viewer. Great detail and attention on shading makes all the difference on the dimension and authenticity when compared to the real thing.

Skin and Bones

This tattoo definitely makes a statement and ranks high on the shock factor meter. The varying detail from shading to strong usage of black around the eyes draws the attention of the viewer to several areas of the tattoo evenly. Although it is subtle, the shading of pink and soft grayish black on the cheek area adds more dimension to the overall image.

Is That Who I Think it is?

There are many people who honor Britney Spears with a tribute tattoo but this is the first one I've seen in which it honors her in her less than favorable moments in her life and career. This tattoo is certainly thought provoking.

It's Mrs. Pac Man!

This tattoo is a tribute to the popular arcade game, Mrs. Pac Man which was created after the very popular arcade game Pac Man.

A Child's Game

Themed from the popular children's activity book game, this Dot to Dot tattoo features a Giraffe and other designs that we can see being drawn in the image to the left.
