Relationships are hard work. It becomes even more impressive when two (almost) equally famous celebrities make it work. Any relationship takes dedication but it is even more complicated under the spotlight. Here are great examples that have managed:

Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany

American Jennifer and English Paul have been married since (2003). Paul has played in Wimbledon opposite Kirsten Dunst, starred as the villain albino alongside Tom Hanks in The Da Vinci Code. You can also check out his bad guy skills in Firewall as well. Her movies include in Requiem for a Dream, Dark City, Of Love and Shadows and He Is Just Not That Into You. They have one child.

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell never got married but they have been together since 1983. Goldie Hawn is the mother actress Kate Hudson. Kate is from Goldie’s first marriage but she usually refers to Kurt Russell as her father. Goldie and Kurt also have a son together. The duo made three movies together: “The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band”, Overboard and Swing Shift. Each also starred in a movie with Mel Gibson. Russell co-starred alongside Gibson in the drama/romance/thriller Tequila Sunrise and Goldie co-starred with Gibson in Bird on a Wire.

Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith

Melanie is Antonio’s second wife and Antonio is Mel’s fourth husband. Well, he can be counted as the third since Melanie married and divorced actor Don Johnson twice. But it doesn’t really matter how many relationships or marriages you had before; but how long and well the current one lasts. The duo have been married since 1996 and have one kid together. They met in 1995, while they were making the romantic comedy Two Much. It is only rated 5.1 on IMDB but it might just be the favorite film of Antonio and Melanie.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr.

These two made it big at movies targeted for in-their-teens audience. They appeared in 5 movies together, including the Two Scooby- Doo movies, thriller/teen-slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer, romantic comedy She’s All That and Happily N’ Ever After. The latter is an animation movie they lent their voice to. In She’s All That, Sarah makes merely an appearance however they both have leading roles together in the other three movies. They have been married since 2002 and they have a child together.

You might remember young British actor Hugh Dancy from movies such as The Sleeping Dictionary, Shooting Dogs, King Arthur, Ella Enchanted, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Adam, The Sleeping Dictionary and The Jane Austen Book Club. Claire Danes appeared in Romeo and Juliet, Stardust, The Family Stone, Stage Beauty and Little Women. The duo got married in 2009. It’s the first marriage for both of them. You might consider them to be too new a couple to be listed here. But since both are young and accomplished Hollywood sweethearts and it is the first marriage for both of them, I thought they should be here. That, and they look lovely together.

Not everyman will admit that his wife committed career suicide because she married too early and had 2 kids. He is right, considering that wife Kyra is also an actress. But don’t think Kyra is complaining. She may not have been as famous as Michelle Pfeiffer or made it as popular as Julia Roberts but she has had a great marriage with one of the most talented actors Hollywood has ever seen. Not to mention she is not exactly staying away from the screen as she has made many critically acclaimed movies and she also has the lead role in the hit TV drama series The Closer. The show has been on the air since 2005. When it comes to how they met, they probably have the sweetest and the most romantic story in Hollywood. When Kyra was 12, she went to see a play starring Kevin Bacon, who was then 20. After the play she went to him and congratulated him on his performance. Years later, Kyra also became an actress. They met again when they both signed on two play the leads in the movie Lemon Sky. Kevin courted her from day 1 and he didn’t remember how they met years earlier. However they have been inseparable ever since.
