Viator Review — Vacation Packages & Tours Comparison (2012)

Viator is a great website that specializes in travel, tours and sightseeing. 

They have unbeatable deals for:

• The Middle East
• Pacific Islands
• The Americas

Not many other websites can boast such a wide variety of destinations.

You can choose how you arrive to your destination, where you stay and what company/tour guide you want to do business with. Rome, Paris, the Netherlands and London in seven days? You can book it on Viator. I am sure you will enjoy the positive adventure you would embark on.

One of the things that I like about Viator is the amount of information the website contains about each destination. If you want to go to Rome there are 82 things you can do while you are there. London has 130 different things you can do; and you can get all this information from this one site. What a great website, book your vacations and get plenty of information about your destination. What other website provides this amount of information?

Their customer service is a 24/7 center, so you do not have to wait til some unknown hour when needing to speak to someone about your trip. You can contact them either by email mail, learn more about what ever it is you are wanting to discus in their FAQ, or call one of their phone numbers. It is all available 24 hours a day: UK, US and Canada and their international numbers are available if you would prefer to talk to someone write away. Their usual email response has a 12 to 24 hour response.

With over three million happy travelers I think you have stumbled upon one of the best sites in this business.

Expedia is the leading competitor for Viator. They have a great reputation and they have some great commercials on TV and radio to boost their popularity. You are able to check your flight status from their website, something you should be able to do while you are at the airport anyway. And they also have, which I think is great, travel advisories on their website; (if you are going to a country that has recently encountered and natural disaster or some kind of political upheaval you can get up to date information easily.

If, for some reason, you have to cancel your trip, Expedia does not have a cancellation fee. However, they cannot guarantee the hotel, airline or car rental will do likewise.

Kayak is a unique website that caters to the traveling person wanting to vacation. The site is different than others as it lets you look through, literally, hundreds of different websites that have the best deals. The only thing about this is if your trip has different companies that arranged the trip you will have to speak to many different people; hopefully you won't have any difficulties during your trip.

If you're traveling to Paris and want to see some of the top destinations there you can book them in advance. For instance, if you want to see Moulin Rouge Paris Dinner and Show that is $213.01 USD, a day trip to Versailles day trip from Paris is $112.18 USD. (These prices are in addition to airfare and your hotel).

If London is more along your destination preferences then Viator has some great deals for you. You can get a Day Pass, 1,2,3 or 6 day pass starting at $66.41 USD. If Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath is what you most want to see while in the UK you can get a day pass starting at $111.76 USD. You can even get to Paris from London on rail starting at $241.33 USD. (These prices do not include the cost of airfare or your hotel).

Viator is the best place for you to get the best deals available.

CHB of Little Rock, Arkansas wasn't very impressed with Viator. He had tried to book, several months in advance, The Last Supper. The Viator website said it wasn't available, then said that it was. His credit card was billed and he received his confirmation. While he was on his trip, a few days later, he received another email stating that the Last Supper wasn't available. He was able to book it at another vender but he had several weeks before he got his refund, minus the credit card transaction fee.

The BBB has them listed as A+ and they have a total of 12 complaints in the last 36 months. All of which have been resolved.

Moe vacationed in London in March 2011 and loved the experience because he was able to avoid the blocks long lines and get into the exhibits and tours with in five min.  All with the London Pass available from Viator.  That is something great to have, kind of like feeling like a VIP with the pass.  Read other customer reviews with this link.
