The Problems Being Superman's Child

The problems a child of Superman would face

In the comics, Superman, Kal-el, Clark Kent, the Man of Steel, or whatever you wish to call him,  has had children, been married, and more. Even in the last movie, he apparently fathered a son with Lois Lane; either that or the kid has gotten some freakishly mutated strain of Flintstone vitamins.

As for his kids in reality, in other words, assuming there was a Krypton that was dying and had a frantic father in a desperate attempt to save his son would build a space-worthy craft equipped with the latest GPS tracking system and would head it toward earth to be found by a conveniently barren couple who like kids , it would be likely he and Lois wouldn't have any children of their own because of a possible difference in chromosome number due to being different species or even if number of chromosomes matched, there could be problems because of Kryptonian physiology.

If traits are passed from the mother as many are, then the kid would be most likely normal-although probably psychologically screwed having Superman as a dad and no abilities to follow in his footsteps plus with dad's time away fighting Lex Luthor and Bizarro Superman, he would feel pretty neglected. Regarding being the son of Superman which he would most likely figure out at some point, it would cause him a great deal of anxiety. First, if he just saw his dad wearing tights around the house that would likely cause some sexual identity issues.

If he did understand his father was Superman, those would be pretty big red boots to fill especially if his son was just a mere mortal who could only catch a train by waiting at the station like the rest of us.  It would be quite a mind-screw if one was working the counter at McDonald's while their dad is hurling Texas-sized asteroids into outer space saving our planet from certain annihilation.

I'm sure when Superman comes home drunk after partying all night with Wonder Woman and he and Lois get into a big fight and then split-up and he only sees his dad on holidays it will further cause him to spiral into an even deeper pit of depression, greater then Lex Luthor felt when he became the top candidate for the Hair Club for Men. After his suicide attempt, Superman will of course rotate the earth backwards to reverse time and prevent his son's death and then spend most of his Daily Planet income on expensive therapy which will prove ineffective causing the same tragic events to reoccur and Superman once again to spin our planet backwards like a toy top and entering his son into more therapy only to fail once again. Eventually Superman will just give up leaving him and Lois Lane both childless and broken-hearted which is why I recommend a Kryptonite diaphragm for Lois Lane in the first place.
