Organic foods—these are not just necessary elements in the market, but also an important component in people’s nutrition and health. Frankly speaking, every government must spare consideration and give ample attention to its people’s improvement of life and betterment of health.

Organic foods are just normal foods but developed in ways that aim to reach high standard levels. You cannot differentiate organic and non-organic foods from each other because its appearances are typically the same. The utilization of natural fertilizers and the cutback of non-organic fertilizers are just two of the set of standards. Reduction of dangerous chemicals and pesticides put on the plant to promote better production and growth are also included.

The Problem

Organic farming is an important matter for most and is being patronized widely. But in underprivileged, poor countries, farmers find it difficult to do. Natural fertilizers are expensive and not using chemicals and pesticides will pose risks of the crops being destroyed resulting in harvest loss.

Let us first talk about the expensiveness of organic fertilizers. Its prices differ depending on the purpose and function of a particular fertilizer. Since crops would need natural fertilizers in order to maintain nutrients from organic resources, it is important for farmers to purchase natural fertilizers. But, can they?

Not really. Most farmers in poor countries in the world do not have the luxury and financial means to purchase and utilize such fertilizers. The expensive buying price of natural fertilizers and the farmers’ inability to purchase it causes a big setback in organic farming in underprivileged nations.

Furthermore, organic products do not produce as much as non-organic crops, since there are no used chemicals that promote yielding and producing of more harvest. Getting a low harvest volume and threat of damage in the crops makes farmers not to choose using organic fertilizers.

Price Level

Financial support and capacity is a major consideration in the farming industry especially when it comes to organic farming. It is really necessary to consider this matter and learn how underprivileged country farmers fare in the marketplace.

1. Organic fertilizers are too costly which prevents farmers from making use of it. They would need to purchase those expensive fertilizers for them to maintain an organic farm.

2. In some countries, organic products and crops are not highly regarded. This is because in poor countries, there is not enough knowledge about the use of organic products. Consumers do not usually buy such, so pricing cannot be like in other more privileged countries.

3. Bottom line is farmers spend highly because of generation charges because of operations but do not get high income from the crops because of low demand rate. To solve it, products are being exported to other countries. Prices might be higher but not enough still.

In conclusion, organic farmers give the best they could to produce organic crops. But usually in underprivileged countries, organic farming is just a luxury they cannot afford.
