Runescape: Level Your Hunter

If you have read my guide regarding hunting Red Chinchompas here, you should get the idea that training Hunter will be hard. But let not that worry you because the road from level 80 Hunter to level 99 Hunter is easier than the road from level 1 Hunter to  level 80 Hunter. There are two ways on how you want to get to level 99 Hunter in Runescape. If you want to train Hunter while gaining more money you can do so by taking 2 hours more of training. The other method will be quicker in training Hunter but will not yield you any money. This is a cross road in Runescape thesee methods could get you to level 99. It is recommended that you train Hunter for the experience until you reach level 99 Hunter. Level 99 Hunter will allow you to easily catch Runescape's Grenwalls. Saving time in the long run will give you more money.

To start, buy atleast 10 of the following Hunter equipment.

  • Bird Snare
  • Small Fishing Net
  • Rope
  • Axe
  • Knife
  • Box Trap

The reason that you need to buy atleast 10 of these Hunter is that you might lose them due to unexpected conditions. It is also recommended that you have finished the quest Priest in Peril, if you are a skiller there is  also a different way to continue. One major quest that will REALLY help is Fairy Tale Part II, you don't necessarily need to finish it, you just need to progress through the quest to be able to use the Fairy Rings. Fairy Rings are scattered around Runescape and will basically get you to every Hunter spot. If you have already completed and have access to Lunar Magicks you should have access to some Runescape spells to make your own hunter kits.

From Level 1 Hunter to Level 9 Hunter, one should hunt Crimson Swifts, they can be found in the Feldip Hills (fairy ring code AKS). From the fairy ring spot go southeast till you reach the coast. From Yanille you can go south till you pass through Gu'Tanoth  then go south east along the edge till you reach the beach. Bird Snares are used to hunt these. With the update of Runescape's Tutorial system, it is also possible to hunt these at Burthope near the Hunting Guide. By now you should be on your road to Level 99 Hunter

From Level 9 Hunter to Level 19 Hunt Copper Long Tails they can be found in the Piscatoris Hunting Spot(AKQ) northwestern part of the world map. From the Gnome Stronghold go North West then to the falconry. From the fairy ring go east to the falconry, they can be found near there. Use a bird snare to Hunt these.

From Level 19 Hunter to Level 29 Hunter or Level 33 Hunter hunt Tropical Wagtails they can be found in the Feldip Hills. Again use a bird snare for these, when you reach level 20 you can use two bird snares. As you can see you can either stop at level 29 if your not a skiller or continue till 33 if you are a skiller. When you reach level 27 it is recommended to complete Eagle's Peak, the quest is also helpful in travelling to Hunter Spots around Runescape, and gives bonus experience. This is probably the last time you are going to use Bird Snares for getting 99 Hunter Level or in Runescape

From Level 29 Hunter to Level 43 Hunter hunt Swamp Lizards, you need a small fishing net and a rope, in this case you need two. They can be found in the swamp near Canifis use the World Map to spot the Hunter Spot. They sell for approximately 2000 gold coins each, if you want money you can bank them at Canifis.

From Level 33 Hunter to Level 43 hunt Barb-tailed Kebbits, you need an axe, a knife, and some logs. They can be found in the Feldip Hills near the Dead Fall traps (keep in mind that you can only use one Dead Fall Trap at a time regardless of level)

From Level 43 Hunter to Level 53 Hunter hunt Spotted Kebbits, they can be found in the Falconry, unequip your gloves, then go to the Piscatoris Hunt Spot and pay 500gp to Matthias. 500 GP is a small amount in Runescape and you can basically hunt there for as long as you want

From Level 53 Hunter to Level 60 Hunter hunt Chinchompas, they are found in the Piscatoris Hunting spot , you can use 3 box traps in hunting them, when you reach level 60 you can now use 4 traps at a time, at this point you can stick with them or go to next step. If you want money stick with them. You should be thinking that you are half way around to level 99 Hunter.

From Level 60 Hunter to Level 63 Hunter or level 80 Hunter hunt Red Salamanders they give no profit whatsoever, but they give 272 experience per catch, bring some fishing net and rope to the Ourania Altar. When you reach level 63 hunt Red Chinchompas if you want catch or continue hunting these till level 80.

From Level 63 Hunter to Level 99 Hunter Hunt Red Chinchompas you will earn approximately 30m

From Level 80 Hunter to Level 99 Hunter Hunt Red Chinchompas you will earn approximately 28m

You will be around half way from level 99 Hunter at around level 95 Hunter. This is how Runescape's experience system works.

When Hunting Red Chinchompas please refer to my other guide.
