He is talking about some kind of starter, sourdough bread
or Friendship cake. I doubt if you could tell the
difference. My experience wih sour dough is that as long as
you don't let it die, or become corrupted with mold on it, you
can't hurt it. Take some out and feed it , and it starts all
over.
