It honestly goes by what kind of gamer you are and what you are looking for in a system.  You have the cheap and casual Wii, the varied Xbox 360, and the more hard-core and technologically superior PS3.

Like I said before, the Wii is for casual gamers and has simple, entertaining games like Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Party, etc.  The Wii lacks a lot of good third party developer support, so your only option for games are restricted to the major Nintendo franchises (ie Legend of Zelda, Mario).  Online play is essentially nonexistent.  If you have a GameCube (prior generation console) all peripherals (controllers, memory cards) and games are backwards compatible.  Although the Wii got a recent price drop, rumors are heating up about Nintendo's next console codenamed "Project Cafe."  It'll officially be revealed in early June during the E3 expo, so unless you're a mega Nintendo fan, the Wii is a pass for right now.

The PS3 is a technological monster.  Powered by a custom built Cell processor, this thing cranks serious graphics.  It is also still one of the better Blu Ray players you can find.  The game library is varied and includes both exclusive and third party hits (Uncharted, Rachet and Clank, Call of Duty, Madden).  The better systems bundled with the PS Move (essentially a more accurate Wiimote) hit the $400 mark, though.  Like mentioned previously, the online play is free, and there are paid plus options.  HOWEVER, recently, Sony has been under attack from unknown hackers, and millions of people had their information stolen and possible credit card numbers compromised from their PlayStation Network (PSN).  If you feel fine shelling out all that money and think Sony's worst is behind them, then go for it.

The Xbox 360 is robust, offers many features that can be paired with Windows computers (moreso Windows 7), has an extensive library with great exclusive and third party games like the PS3 (Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty, Madden).  The console bundled with the more original Kinect system is more affordable at $300, but the ultimate package hits $400.  Xbox Live is usually $50 per year, although you can find deals if you look hard enough.  Yes it's paid online play and access to downloadable games, but honestly, you get what you pay for.  So far, Live has not been hacked and performance is usual stable and optimal.  You can still get the basics with the free version of Live (online access, no gaming) but Sony is starting to move in this direction with PSN (free basic PSN, but more content on PSN Plus).

I would probably say PS3 has the stronger game library and definitely the technological edge, and at $400, it's definitely worth the money but it can be a lot to swallow all at once.  There are no killer games yet for the Kinect, so it isn't a selling point yet (fun games: yes, epic: no).  The Blu Ray, system performance, game lineup, PS Move, and continuing 3D support as a bonus makes the PS3 very attractive for those that are more hard core gamers and love their tech.  If you can sacrifice the advanced tech, just want to play some good games and not fear of security breaches, then you also cannot lose with the more afforable Xbox 360.

But come next month, this all might be naught, as the rumored next Nintendo console will out do the 360, rival the PS3, and have touch screens in their controllers...

1. Sony PS3 (you get a huge hard drive, cool games, Blu-Ray, Bluetooth, free online)

2. Nintendo Wii (for $149 you get free online and fun games)

3. Xbox 360 (you have to pay $60 a year to play multiplayer, plus the games aren't that good)

The Playstation Move that is coming out is going to be the best "bang for your buck."  You can access internet, netflix, online games and more.  It has a blueray player, new motion sensor technology and 3D gaming capabilities.  Look into it! you will be pleasantly surprised.  It can replace anything from a dvd player to a computer!

You can't go wrong with the PS3 or the Xbox360, but I personally would go with the PlayStation! You do not have to pay for Online unless you wish to. Hope I helped!

I would personally recommend the PS3. I have owned all 3 major consoles and have found the most use out of my PS3 when compared to the others. I will say that the Xbox360 and PS3 are very similar and what it came down to me was which console got the most for my money.

The games are virtually the same. The both have great exclusives but many people play multiplatform games such as Madden, Call of Duty, etc. The graphic quality of the systems are virtually identical as well.

The biggest differential in price comes with the internet sevice. $60/year for the Xbox 360 versus $0 for the PS3. I understand that the Xbox offers much more for the paid service, but most people are just looking for a connection to play live. Having owned my PS3 for 3 years, I have saved $180, which, ironically, is enough to buy an Xbox 360 if you wanted both!

I hope this helps!

Hi friends..

XBOX's failer rate is high and PS3' online cost is free .
Buy a PS3.No doubt XBOX has some good titles that are not on the ps3 like gears of war, left 4 dead , halo and loads more. And even XBOX has a better CONTROLLER than a PS3 has.
But PS3 have more exclusive titles that are amazing. The PS3 has better games and their exclusives blow any xbox exclusives out of the water. PS3 has Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, inFamous, God of War 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4. The PlayStation network is free compared to a fee of Xbox Live.
PS3 is the best system out right now and it's a Sony product, what more do you need to know? Better quality, better games, better graphics, lasts longer, free online play and it's a blu-ray player .
PS3 realy rules:)

But if we compare to ps3 Vs. Ps2 , then i will recommand you to go for ps2 becaus it has huge list of game to play ...

Remember, it comes down to preference in the end, but my opinion is more favoured towards the PS3. I am an owner of an XBOX and a PS3, and the deciding factor for me came down to the BluRay player. So, if you are more focused on value, PS3 is the best espesially with the free online play, but XBOX has a larger selection of exclusive games and a greater online experience.

The PS3 is a better system overall. The PS3 also has the blu-ray player (which is a bonus). You dont have to pay for the PS3 online (which is also nice). The Xbox 360 on the other hand has a better game selection and yes you do have to pay for online play but it really isnt that much(its like $50 a year). It all really depends on what you want out of a game system really. both systems have netflix and i believe hulu plus now too. both have there motion sensor device and online gameplay. Most games are also on both systems expect some games that are exclusive to each system. i would say go with the PS3 because i believe the blu-ray player gives it the edge but it depends what you want out of your gaming system

I would say go with the system that is going to have the most games that appeal to you.  If you go in that direction, you'll be satisifed.

Xbox 360 if you want to play online with friends who also have it because Xbox Live is a lot better then PSN. If you strictly want best features for the money then PS3 has bluray so you'd save money there. If you get kinect, make sure you have the space because in a small area it isn't good. (personal experience) Wii I would only recomend if you get a deal like me; I got one for 40$ with games and controllers. The only other reason to get a Wii is if you like the type of casual and family games that it offers.
