The Goring Hotel is a family run, five star hotel situated in London's prestigious Belgravia area, that is used by the British Royal family for visiting dignitaries.

The hotel was opened in March 1910 by German, Otto Richard Goring ( 1869 - 1948 ) and was the last hotel to be built during the reign of King Edward VII and the only hotel in the world to offer all it's rooms with en - suite bathrooms and central heating.

During the first World War the hotel was taken over to be used as the base for the allied war effort and command centre for the British Chief of the Allied Forces.

In 1921 the hotel became a trendsetter, when it became the first hotel in London to have air conditioning installed, by way of a large fan on it's roof.

After the coronation of H.R.H Queen Elisabeth II in 1953, the hotel became annexed to Buckingham Palace, and since then has catered to hundreds of royal and foreign dignitaries.

Today the hotel is the only five star establishment in London that is family owned and run and the only hotel in London that is located on a congestion charge free, roadway.

The hotel is famous for being a regular haunt of the British Royal family, as they have for decades, been known to visit the dining room of this prestigious hotel to partake of it's world class English breakfasts.

However, you don't have to be Royalty to enjoy the services of this grand hotel, although you will certainly be treated as if you were, as the hotel has won countless awards from various tourism bodies for it's services to the hotel business, during it's 100 years.

It's 71 rooms and bathrooms are all individually designed with emphasis firmly on it's Edwardian roots, with many of them sporting views of the hotel's immaculately, manicured, ornamental garden.

It's location in Belgravia's, Beeston Place, means that attractions such as Buckingham Palace, The Royal Parks, and London's West End, City of London and City of Westminster, are all within walking distance.

The hotel, was thrust into the world's spotlight during the wedding of H.R.H Prince William and Kate Middleton ( Princess William, Duchess of Cambridge ) in April 2011, after being the venue of the Middleton family and the first place the world gained a peek at Kate Middleton's long awaited and top secret, wedding dress.

As well as it's 71 rooms and suites the hotel also consists of an Edwardian style dining room, which specialises in traditional, British fare, an Edwardian style bar and lounge that serves a multitude of fine wines, spirits and champagnes, the Veranda which overlooks the gardens and serves the hotel's mouth watering afternoon teas and  desserts, and the recently built Beach Bar, newly located in the garden which serves a variety of sumptous cocktails.

The hotel has an annual turnover of £10 million with an occupancy rate of 75%, with 40 % of it's visitors from the U.K, 40% from the U.S and 20% from the rest of the world.
