phlem all the time. I was also a heavy smoker. I smoked 2 packs a
day for 36 years. I quit smoking on June 30 2007. I dont cough up
brown phlem anymore. I do have COPD as a result of smoking but it
hasnt gotten any worse since. I do take vitamins and I exercise. I
do feel much better. So if you smoke it would be best to quit asap.
